Is this place 21 and over??
Reminds me of good ole days!!
Nice , quiet.. pub.. excellent chilli.Good get away from hustle and bustle
There was only one other bar that was better. It was the Fox! Sadly, the flood of a few years back took it away.
MoreGreat place. Your basic hole in the wall bar. Great people and service was great!
MoreBest drink prices in town. Friendly. Casual.
Great atmosphere. Great people!
Quick service, comfortable retro environment, nice crowd
Loved the bartender
It's a nice place to go with a friends for a quick drink. And there is always an uber driver there too take you home if you're had too much.
MoreGood dive bar feel
Great place to see some old friends and maybe meet some new ones.
fun dive bar
A laid back dive bar. It is what it is.
There's nothing like it! Best place ever.
Hole in the wall bar. For locals.
Never been there, not sure why you ask me this!
Awesome place and awesome service!!!
Great drinks great people
If you're under the age of 35, the entirety of the staff and patrons will glare at you as if your existence has ruined the baby boomer vibe of the place. And speaking of baby boomers, you would think the bar was stuck in the 1950s considering they accept cash only, and won't tell you about this until after they served you. So now your 5 dollar watered down shot of vodka gets to cost 10 with an ATM fee. Invest in a 10 dollar plastic card reader that attaches to your phone. Itll make you a lot more money and earn you a higher rating.
MoreA great dive bar in Ames, Iowa.
Cool little bar. Great staff, great environment.
Great place for chili and cold beer
Nice local bar
Great People, Pricey Beer $3.75...
Great atmosphere and warm people.
Clean, upstanding place! The people there are awesome!
Great place to relax and have fun
Bartenders are a riot. I enjoy the small-town feel in a decent size college town.
MoreThey serve PABST BLUE RIBBON BEER on Tap !!! It used to be #1 Beer in the USA !!! Still is in my book...now I live in Riverside,CA...(I lived in NEVADA..NO...the other place out in LAS VEGAS)...and found this watering hole...I left and drove to Dollar General to sleep it off...Police woke me at 2:30am ...nicest people on the planet !!! Thanks IOWA !!!
MoreGreat drinks awesome atmosphere
Best chili and prairie fire shots in the Midwest 🔥
Love this place!!! Many fun nights in here.
A must see!!!
Cozy home town bar. Great place to meet the locals and enjoy some music and games.
MoreVery nice..cash only
Bring cash. Don't expect liquor in your mixed drinks. Perfect bar for the prohibition era enthusiasts.
MoreRelaxed atmosphere. Good people.
Fun place to go out with friends. Friendly atmosphere!
Great Fans on Game Day!
Was a small place but one of the best I have been to. Service was good on a busy afternoon. From out of town but was treated amazingly. Will differently return. Had a glass with a Vietnam veteran sticker on it and allowed us to take one to display in our American legion.
MoreCheap drinks and a abundant crowd. Not the most classy place but alright.
Great chili on gameday. Was really loud, but about what I expected when there's a game.
MoreLocal watering hole. Staff was friendly, drinks were reasonable, but the place needs work as it's kind of a dive.
MoreGreat bartender n food atmosphere.
Crazy cool ppl
Strong drinks. Open as many hours as legally possible.
It will ruin your drinking experiances u have ever had at any other hole in the wall dive bar...Always a great time and the drinks are always pour rite....Strong
MoreI love this place.. I'm a husker fan & they are all so friendly...
The tip top is a perfect place for a nice quiet beer it's been there forever
I have waited a while to write this review, but I would like to say that I had a very enjoyable lunch there in July of 1957. Two of my fraternity brothers and I had been to a convention in Denver and were on our way to Chicago. We saw the restaurant, liked its looks and subsequently enjoyed the food and hospitality. I have a postcard that I was given then...it is really retro-looking with those 1950's cars outside. I must say that I enjoy that old look much better than the current photo on the Lounge's website...too bad it wasn't kept in the old style...people would be flocking to it for the ambience.
